Rare Cask Reserves Ghosted Reserve 26 Years Old is a special William Grant & Sons release. This exclusive blend contains whiskies from two shuttered distilleries, Ladyburn and Inverleven. The whiskies from each distillery were married together by Master Blender Brian Kinsman and left to age. A total of 4,100 bottles were in the release, with 2,000 being made available in the U.S.

Tasting Note by Master of Malt:

Nose - Cashew nuts and toffee with hints of dark chocolate. Fresh orange peel and cinnamon. Freshly baked bread and cereal notes come through later.

Palate - Spices immediately come to the fore - cinnamon, vanilla pods and pepper. Then lots more orange peel, along with other tropical fruits including pineapple and papaya. Warm toffee and raisin notes underpin the proceedings.

Finish - Warm and long, moving away from the spice character and towards the dark chocolate - reminiscent of sticky toffee pudding. Tasty.

Overall A well-balanced blended malt and a rich, oily, dessert-like dram.
